Network & cloud security

GOOD
DEFENSE.

Understanding the infrastructure.
Strengthening what connects it.

The approach
Symbols resolve into the words: Understand. Then defend.

Built to connect.
Set up with care.

My focus is the infrastructure behind the software: networks, cloud environments, and servers. Security is part of how those systems are put together.

Network & cloud security.

Looking at exposure, access, and the boundaries between systems. Understanding how the pieces connect before deciding what needs to change.

Servers & infrastructure.

Setting up services, shaping their configuration, and thinking through the maintenance that comes after the first successful boot.

Clear lines.

A defensive purpose.
Clear boundaries for the work.

The purpose is defensive. These principles set the boundaries for the work, whatever tools are involved.

Permission comes first.

Stay within systems I own or have explicit permission to assess. Agree the scope before testing and stop at its boundaries.

Protect people and data.

Use isolated environments and the minimum data necessary. Restrict access to sensitive material, keep it out of public outputs, and remove it when it is no longer needed.

Demonstrate enough. Stop there.

Choose the least disruptive way to establish a finding. Avoid damage, service interruption, or access beyond the agreed scope. Unauthorized access, malicious tooling, and mass collection of private data have no place in this work.

Keep human judgment in the loop.

AI can help analyze and explain; its outputs still need verification. Follow tool providers' rules and review requirements. Respect safeguards rather than attempting to bypass them.

Disclose with care.

Share reproducible findings privately with affected maintainers. Allow time for remediation and consider the risk to others before publishing technical detail.

Look after the research itself.

Keep tools current, protect accounts with strong authentication, limit permissions, and review how sensitive work is stored and shared.
